During my sets I generally try to drop a couple Vampire Weekend tracks. I dig their tunes but am not a big follower. This morning while reading on one of my favorite blogs La Blogotheque I stumbled upon this Vampire Weekend clip. I can’t complain, the quality of music is good. It just seems as if their trying to highlight the lead singer as a The Beatles Style meets 2010. It’s a bit strange with all the closeups and the girls surrounding him cause he’s so “dreamy”.
With all that said though, I enjoy the tracks… It’s a nice listen but I could do without the “heart-throb” video.

Bringing you some more of that heavy shit for you’re listening pleasure. This happens to be my favorite song/remix right now, I especially love it after the second monologue sample when the beat drops and get really heavy. Enjoy, and the pic makes sense when you listen to the song.

I’m just sharing a bunch of dubstep gems today. Here’s a dope 12th planet remix of Ladybox’s “Cookies Fly”. So many elements of this remix make me happy inside…almost like eating cookies, bon appetit!

I personally can’t believe this remix isn’t more popular, it’s pretty sick. I’ve played it a few times at Vigor and people are like “whaaat?!”, so I guess it’s time to share. If you like dubstep even a little bit you’ll love this apparently hidden gem, flashback to junior high starts…now

I’m a sucker for info-graphs, Especially design worthy ones. This info-graph on the Genealogy of Pop & Rock Music seems to fit appropriately for this blog. It’s rather difficult to see but its well worth the squint. Click on the file for the massively enlarged version.

I’d like to introduce The Savviness. A project that with the help of some ShrugLife members wouldn’t be what it is today. The Savviness is a mobile-photo blog that we started. The goal of the site is to document the things we see everyday in our lives. The things range from ridiculous people, humor, art, and most importantly personal jokes; all attached with 1 liners for titles. The Savviness has taken great form and acts as a means of communication between our members. We now find ourselves having conversations via our photos. Video support is coming soon!
Our members are:
Alain D. (Myself)
Katerina S.
Marlon Oliva (ARQ)
Matt Pace (Maestro P)
Kristen Oshiro (K!0)
Wei Jerry Chen (DJ Fulltimefun)
Chrissy Leavell (mizzchriss)
Michael Schiano (mrcocochanel)
Matt Sleep
So, feel free to check us out at Thesavviness.info, It’s all in good fun.

Everyone knows that I am a New Wave enthusiast. I think K!O, DJ Fulltimefun, ARQ, & DJ Maestro P can vouch for that during my trance last night at Trophy Bar’s -Joy Division / New Order night. Though, one song they didn’t play was Love Tempo by Quando Quango. I feel like this is a staple for New Wave DJ’s since they were the influence for underground dance from Chicago and New York. Their sounds are still heard throughout production today.
Enjoy it…
