Eric put me on to these guys a few months ago. They kinda remind me of early Peter Bjorn And John, the album is a nice mix of departures into various style of music. Home is a great lighthearted nugget of sunshine, appropriate for this pre-sping weather we’re having.

Pendulum – Slam

by alain on March 8, 2010

Pendulum produce some serious trip beats. Its a mix of the Gorillaz meets Radiohead with a splash of The Faint (I hope my descriptions does them justice cause they rock)
I ain’t mad at this at all! This video is serious.

Another notable mention from these dudes:

ONTOP

Not sure what it is about this song I like so much, maybe because I love electro and classical music and these guys do a great job at combining the two, who knows. Regardless it’s a must listen and maybe you might get a little smarter, unless that only works with Mozart

Trippy

by maestro on March 1, 2010

So after watching this, I’m convinced that the Crookers have been either dropping tons of acid while working on their new album(dropping March 8th) or not sleeping at all, either way this video is weird.  It’s a lot different than the usual Crookers track, as is most of the album that I’ve heard so far, still good, just different. I’ll be keeping an eye and an ear out for more and definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of the album next week.

Introducing Rico Tubbs!

by maestro on February 28, 2010

rico-tubbs

Rico Tubbs is a DJ/producer from Finland who is going to be making some big noise soon.  I’ve heard a few of his remixes and originals in the past few weeks and have to say, so far I’m a fan of everything he’s putting his name on and looking forward to more.  Here’s a little taste:

Check this hot new remix from shruglife homeboy Cobra Krames.  Diggin the electro hood style of this jam and sure you will too.

One of the nicest mash ups I’ve heard in a while and definitely satisfies the need to please the masses and keep some dignity

This track hits hard! I dropped it at the last ViGOR and people lost it.  I think even Kurt Cobain would like this one.

These Decades That We Never Sleep mixtape

These Decades That We Never Sleep

Hey guys. So I just finished another live mix, albeit a very short one this time. (Good for those with ADD!) It’s also a bit more dancey/electro-housey. Also, the name is swiped (”re-appropriated”) from a Terence Koh work of art, just FYI. Love that guy!

So yes, anyway, DL the mix by clicking the link below. And tracklisting is below as well!  And again, many thanks goes to Matt Pace for letting me use his setup and subjecting him to the numerous takes I had to do.  He really IS Mr. Nice Guy! <3

Hope you enjoy the tunes and it keeps ya dancin’ through the night, or in the shower, or whatever :)
